

I don't think this is a firewall issue because it still happens even when I disable the firewalls on both the remote and host computers.

I've tried to map it, browse to it, etc., but am unable to get it to show up as an available printer.Īnother bit of info is that when I am physically accessing the HOST computer via private IP (on the same LAN) with a different remote machine, that remote machine's local printers all show up as expected. When I connect via remote desktop, the host computer lists the Dymo label printer, but not the Dell laser printer.

I also have a label printer made by Dymo attached to the local machine. On the local machine, I have a Dell 3115 Laser Printer that is setup as a "local" printer via standard TCP/IP port using a private ip (192.168.1.12). The host/remote machine is an HP desktop running Vista Business. The local machine is an HP desktop running Windows XP Pro with the most recent remote desktop client. I am trying to print to my local printer via a remote desktop session.
